- 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of baking soda
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1/2 cup of shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips
In a small bowl, sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
In a large bowl cream together the butter, shortening, and sugars until combined. Add in the vanilla and eggs and beat until the mixture is smooth.
Gradually beat in the flour mixture until combined and a smooth dough forms. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges and just beginning to set in the middle. Remove from cookie sheets and cool on racks.
