Selecting Food for Homemade Baby Food
Making your own baby food allows you to select everything that is going into your baby. Always select fresh, ripe produce and good quality meats for baby food. It is up to you if you want all the food to be entirely organic or if you want to save some money and only go the organic route for foods that are more likely to contain contaminates.
The main foods that should always be organic to avoid contamination are called the dirty dozen. They include apples, celery, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, nectarines, bell peppers, spinach, cherries, kale, potatoes, and grapes. Always prepare your baby food shortly after purchasing fresh ingredients to ensure the highest quality of food and nutrients.
